Melanie Hrymak is a Toronto-based actor, writer, and producer. Since graduating from the Theatre and Drama Studies program at Sheridan College and the University of Toronto, Melanie has been living and performing in Toronto. She refuses to believe that Theatre is Dead and prefers travelling on her own.
As a founding member of Headstrong Collective, Melanie wrote the play Licking Knives, the story of a young woman’s journey from a stick in the Ukrainian mud to Paris over the course of WWII, which has recently been published by Meat Locker Editions. She was also a co-adaptor and producer of Romeo and (her) Juliet, winner of the Best Ensemble and Best Director (Regional/Independent) My Theatre Awards from My Entertainment World.
Melanie is an Intermediate Actor-Combatant with the Academy of Fight Directors Canada, with additional training in mask, clown, and physical theatre. She loves coffee, intersectional feminism, and her cat Lois.
